While we were taping for Cafe Racer TV this past spring / early summer, one of the questions that came up a few times was "after this, what's next for the Badger?" But with Cycle Icons' future in flux, and being so focused on building the current iteration and shooting the show, I didn't have the emotional where with all to consider "what's next". Frankly, I was content with Cafe Racer perhaps being our swan song.
Now a few weeks on, having licked my wounds a bit, the wheels are turning again, so to speak. Miss Collins, my 10th grade English teacher didn't call me Leon "shake it till it's dead" Stanley for nothing.
Not to be morose, grandiose, or esoteric (though I'm pretty good at all three), Bruce puts it well in the first few minutes of this clip....
Damn Bruce, sounds like the past year! But seriously. And not to complain. It's been a ball. But we certainly have had our share of ups and downs.
So that's great. Whatever. Blah, blah, blah. What are you gonna do now?
We're going racing, that's what!
Three disciplines, one bike, one month. An Autumn Blitz, if you will.
The dance card:
Catch some of the season's last bit of road racing and attend the September 22 WERA round at Summit Point, West Virginia.
The next weekend, Sept. 29-30, back to the Ohio Mile in an effort to vindicate ourselves after our somewhat lackluster showing in July. But also, to not only hopefully better our effort in MPS/PG, but run the bike non-faired as well, in both gas and fuel classes. And if the Gods are smiling on us, walk away with FOUR new class records by Sunday afternoon.
October 21st it's back to Cuddeybackville, NY and Oakland Valley Raceway Park for some flat track action.
All of this, is based of course, on scaring up the dough to make it happen. But it always seems to come from somewere, and it's good to try and stay busy. Idle hands are the Devil's workshop. Wish us luck.
